Who is eligible?

  • Age 65 or older
  • Under the age of 65 who have certain disabilities
  • Of any age with End-Stage Renal Disease (permanent kidney failure)

What are the different parts?

Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance) - Original Medicare

  • What Part A covers
  • Cover inpatient hospital stays, care in a skilled nursing facility, hospice care, and some home health care

Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance) - Original Medicare

  • What Part B covers
  • Covers certain doctors’ services, outpatient care, medical supplies, and preventive services

Medicare Part D (Prescription Drug Coverage) – You join a Medicare drug plan in addition to Original Medicare, or you get it by joining a Medicare Advantage Plan with drug coverage.

Supplemental Insurance (Medigap) – Extra insurance you can buy from a private company that helps pay your share of costs in Original Medicare. Policies are standardized and in most states named by letters, like Plan G or Plan K.
