Patient Billing Rights and Protections
No Surprises Act
As a patient of a health care provider, you are entitled to certain rights and protections again "balance billing," also known as surprise medical bills. The document available to download below outlines these protections and how to handle any issues you may face.
Right to "Good Faith Estimate"
If you are a patient of a health care provider and you do not have or will not be using insurance, you are entitled by law to a "Good Faith Estimate," an estimated cost of any non-emergency items and services provided to you during your appointment. If you receive a bill significantly higher than your "Good Faith Estimate," you are entitled to dispute that bill. Download the document below for more information.
