Dr. Bob Vegors Elected to the Tennessee Medical Association Board of Trustees

Dr. Bob Vegors, FACP, of Jackson, has been elected to the Tennessee Medical Association board of trustees. Vegors was chosen for the post by association members in February and was installed during the association’s 177th annual meeting held in Nashville in April. The board of trustees is responsible for the implementation and direction of association activities between sessions of the House of Delegates, the association’s governing body.

Vegors is a former regional vice president for the association and former chairman of the association’s Communications and Public Relations Committee. He served two terms as president of Consolidated Medical Assembly of West Tennessee. A fellow of the American College of Physicians, he serves on the state council of the Tennessee ACP chapter and was the 2011 recipient of the ACP Laureate Award, given for outstanding service to the medical community. Vegors is also board member for the Tennessee Medical Education Foundation. Board certified in internal medicine and geriatrics by the American Board of Internal Medicine, he is a geriatric specialist with The Jackson Clinic, PC. He is also a member of the American Geriatrics Society.
